founder and executive director
Tevin Austin
Welcome to Tazmanian K-9 Foundation! My name is Tevin Austin, and I am the founder and executive director of Tazmanian K-9 Foundation, a non-profit organization that trains and provides service dogs for children and adults with mental health disabilities (PTSD, severe anxiety, depression). Being around several family members and friends who have been diagnosed, I know the severity of how debilitating mental health can be.
I have a background in dog behavior, and animal science, as well as being a vet assistant. I fell in love with training at a very young age. I truly believe training allows the owner and dog to build a stronger relationship and bond. Training is a big necessity for the owner, as well as the dog, to have a happier life.
This organization means a lot to me and I truly believe and understand the needs and concerns of others with mental health disabilities. I understand what a service dog can do for someone who mentally can’t leave the house without having a panic attack or someone with depression who just needs companionship.
The organization looks forward to helping as many people as possible. I hope that everyone will be inspired by our vision. The power of unconditional love and acceptance is truly a great thing.
